I have been looking for an easier Shakshuka recipe than I have seen out there, but this went a slightly different direction...hmmmm....thinking about this.

Just made this. Delicious! The texture and little bit of kick from the pepper flakes was nice. Might experiment eating this over sautéed spinach or adding spinach as a.the base. Could make it a complete meal. :) Really enjoyed eating this and picking up the spicy tomato flavor with the eggs. I would put this in the comfort food category. Thank you Chef John for a new flavorful twist for eggs!

This was the most excellent egg dish I have had/made in a long long time! I did a few little changes, like using partial feta cheese crumbles, added some chopped spinach around the sides, and used some tabbouleh in place of the fresh basil (just didn't have any to use and wanted some kind of fresh herb). I also made it in a larger baking pan (glass) and used 4 eggs. This was the most flavorful egg dish ever! Oh, not only did I use some sourdough bread for the toast, but I also added fresh avocado slices on the plate. Beautiful.
