I make this by layering the whole pieces of bread. after each layer i spread sliced apples and the brown sugar, vanilla,etc. i put the mixed eggs on top and put in fridge overnite. then in morning i bake it

looks so good!! but i would do it diferently to make sure bottom and top is getting mixture mixed through! i would put layer of bread. then layer of the mixture, then layer of bread, then layer of mixture, then bread then mixture, like that begining and ending with the mixture, dont over layer the bread layers, you want a single layer, that way every bread is getting covered with the mixtur! let me know if you had tryed it that way! and let me know if that is better! the lady in the video had the bread go in first then the mixture on top of bread, but the bottom breads are not getting the mixture, and it looks to dry when she scooped some out after cooking! i hope i explained so you will understand what im trying to say! thanks for reading, god bless and enjoy the french bread casseroll,

For French Toast Casserole Deluxe - * (I use a 13in casserole pan, I just think 8x8 is too small)plus I add the cinnamon-sugar into the batter. Place HALF the bread cubes into the baking dish. Place sliced cream cheese on top and then scant teaspoons of All-Fruit preserves,(Any flavor you like)right on top of the sliced cream cheese. Then top with the rest of the bread cubes. Pour the batter over top, cover with wrap and Place it in the fridge - OVERNIGHT. In the morning,all you have to do is take it out of the refrigerator and pop it right in the oven. Then relax.. have a cup of coffee, enjoy the morning while it bakes! Who wants to do extra cooking and clean up on a holiday morning? :)

i would mix the cinnamon & sugar topping into the egg/milk mixture & instead of adding the egg/milk mix to the bread, i'd add the bread to the egg/milk mix. less messy & easier to coat all the bread evenly. then dump the soaked bread into the greased casserole dish & bake it as directed... you'd end up with a more evenly coated french toast casserole & it is more efficient..

I have made this as well and it was very good but I let the bread soak in the mixure for moisture and creamy so good
