I made this last night and it tasted good but just fell apart when cutting it?! I had to serve it in a bowl. Any ideas? Thanks!

It was the first pie I have ever made. The only change I made was to add 1 TBSP of cinnamon to the apples. My family sampled two slices and they were gone in 30 seconds.

Not sure how this pie is supposed to look,, but mine is totally different than this. The butter/sugar mix that I put over it is a dark brown. No idea how it will taste, taking it to daughters tomorrow for dinner. Guess I will find out then. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I cut the sugar in half and prebaked the bottom crust for 10 mins before placing the apples in the shell. This was nice because the bottom crust cooked better and it also shrunk the edge of the crust so when i put the top crust on it layed pretty much on the bend of the tin instead of the edge of the tin. This made for easy serving. I also drained my canned pie filling first into a measuring cup and place the drained apples into the shell. Once covered I poured a little of the liquid over the shell and used a baster to baste it. After baking I placed the pie under the broiler for about 8-10 minutes just to ensure the top got brown because it didn't really want to do it while cooking. Not sure how it tastes cuz its going to the mission but previous ones tasted awesome and with these improvements i know it will be even awesomer!! Thank YOU!!!

I almost always half sugar in cake and sweet bread recipes. It seems to work without fault. Or just take out the sugar and use 3/4 cup brown sugar.

This pie is AWESOME! Just one question, can you make it with less sugar. I want to make this for Thanksgiving but with less sugar as it is too sweet. Has anyone tried using less sugar & it came out OK?

My family absolutely adores this pie, if there's an easier or tastier version I haven't found it.

The rouge won't thicken. Just turns brown. Opened new bag of all purpose flour so I know it was the right kind. Need immediate help.
