A lot easier than I thought. I did it twice - and the SLOWER melting definitely made a difference with the chocolate sliding off the strawberries. I used white chocolate on one batch and milk chocolate on another one. Both were delicious!

Thanks for the tip on the toothpick. Not sure why I never thought about that before, but it is now embedded in my memory. I guess some times the obvious just escapes us. These strawberries are elegant, impressive, tasty, and EASY to make.

even simpler recipe is use chocolate almond bark, melt in microwave and then melt some vanilla almond bark to drizzle.

The shortening made all of the difference. I have made it before - just putting chips in microwave and it worked OK, but wasn't as smooth as I like. I made this on the stove and it was very smooth.
