I never add any sugar as the carrots add the sweetness. I also only use the juice of pepperoncini instead of vinegar. I get RAVE reviews and requests for this salad after all these years!!!

One reason I don't like deli salads is because they, like this recipe, use way too much vinegar. Also would never use that much sugar. Once those are cut back the rest looks good.

I LOVE THIS SALAD BUT HAD TO DETERMINE MY OWN INGREDIENT AMOUNTS. THERE IS NO CLOSED CAPTIONING ON THE VIDEOS TO TELL DEAF PEOPLE HOW MUCH OF THE INGREDIENTS TO USE. WOULD BE AN ADDED BENEFIT TO KNOW AMOUNTS.

I have been searching for a recipe for Mac salad that isn't soupy and drenched in mayo. This is perfection. I added some tuna and it was a big hit!

I tried this because my wife usually makes her own style with Miracle Whip which I don;t care for. I followed the recipe and used the real Mayo instead. Her family, which usually likes the Mom made version, loved this. I did add about an extra 1/2 cup Mayo. after being in the fridge overnight. A big Hit!

Just made this and I think it could quite possibly be the absolute best macaroni salad I've ever made. This will definitely become a staple recipe.

I really like this recipe, with the exception of the large amount of sugar. I prefer a heaping tablespoon. Also, variations I like are to add a finely diced jalapeno without the ribs and seeds, a tablespoon of Rick Bayless' Habanero hot sauce (recipe is on his website) and either add or replace a bit of the mayo with a bit of Golding Farms' Vidalia Onion Dressing and a drizzle of GF's Cucumber Dressing, also.
