I never take the goo off. The goo is just pumpkin. When you cook it it tastes good. I would never in a million years try removing the outer shell...that would take forever. Just pull out the seeds, put them in a single layer, salt them and bake them.

This video shows what look to be commercially hulled pumpkin seeds. In many years of trying, I have never found a way to hull the seeds, or to make the hulls eatable. It is more than an issue of cleaning; it is one of removing the fibrous splintery shells.

Nadine, how long do you boil them?

We have always eaten the whole it comes out of the pumpkin, never hulled. I have never totally removed the slippery goo. Just clean some of it off. Roast the whole seed the way the video shows or just add salt and roast. That's all we ever did.

Hi, I just read somewhere to leave the pulp around the seeds and roast it with the seeds, it add flavor and is a healthy addition. I havent tried it, but it sounds logical.

Waste of time watching this. Was hoping for some tips on removing and roasting the seeds directly from a pumpkin.

These videos always leave out the part where you spend an hour washing and wiping the glue like goo that is attached to them. I have attempted this a couple of times and decided it is not worth the effort to me. BUT, in this video it is showing the hulled seeds, not the whole seed. You roast the whole seed, you don't remove the outer part and roast the inside nut.
