This recipe did not work for me. I used basically all the same ingredients and measurements and I followed the instructions but they still did not come out the way it looked like in the video. It came out all mushy.

@Kathy: Also, my cookies are not flat. I also put oatmeal in them along with the nuts and raisins, and I do put eggs in to hold all that stuff together. Everyone thinks they're the best.

I don't like "soft, chewy middles". I like a choc. chip cookie that's substantial and healthy. I put half wheat flour in mine with half white flour, and I add raisins and nuts and wheat germ. My cookies taste great, too!

Is the type of flour you use very important?iam in China now and find it difficult to get all the ingredients iam used to using from back home in the UK.So would it matter if you used a wheat bread flour instead of say a designated biscuit flour?

try dusting your cookies with coarse sugar to keep cookies from sticking together.

My favorite recipe uses honey and a little white sugar and no eggs. They are popular with everyone. Kind of delicate, but very tasty.

I learned this very early on, most chocolate chip cookie recipes use too much egg. When I make my cookies they come out just as you would see in a bakery thick, soft and good. Take the recipe on the back of the nestle chip bag, double it and then use one jumbo egg, yes just one, I also find using the flour that is made for bread from pillsbury for some reason works well with this recipe. Mix as instructed and bake. Leave them out overnight and they will soften a bit. But they are great right out of the oven. Trust me when I tell you, people go nuts when I bring those cookies anywhere
