I actually love this recipe. I use it all of the time and it is great to make with kids. But instead of making a whole batch, I only make half a batch. It saves a lot of time and ingredients. When I roll it out normally, it's over 1 foot in diameter! So if you make half of a batch you still get a lot more than you probably bargained for! And I'm only 15 years old. And my sister and I use this recipe for school events, family gatherings, etc. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS RECIPE.

SO I guess I should have watched the video first instead of just going by the recipe. First my mixture did not look as supple and smooth as in the video. Secondly, since it did not say so in the recipe, I did not cover the mixture before putting it in the fridge overnight. I ended up with a bowl full of dried out, unusable powder.

Aloha! I concur with Mimi3 and several others... what a total waste of ingredients and time. My dough was far too sticky and I had let it sit in the fridge overnight. It stuck to the rolling pin and was so fragile that the tips of my cookies broke off before I got them to the cookie sheet. I tasted the finished product and it was so awful, I think cardboard would have better flavor. I baked two sheets of these and ended up dumping the entire contents in the trash. I am still shocked at how many people rate this recipe so high. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THESE!

THIS IS THE WORST recipe for sugar cookies I have EVER made!!! Do NOT make this because you use good ingredients but 5 cups of flour???? That's all you taste is the flour!!!!!!!!! YUCK!!!!!!!! They don't ever taste sweet no matter how much sugar you put on top of the cookie!!!!!!!!!!!

Your recipe calls for salt. When baking sweets, I do not add more salt by using salted butter. Unsalted butter is for baking sweets.

Typically if the recipe does not specify, you use salted butter.

Made these this morning. Followed directions and made the best sugar cookies ever. Will definitely be added to my Christmas cookie favorites this year.
