Video: How to Make Deviled Eggs

Chef John is adorable. I love his sense of humour, his voice and his simplistic approach to recipes! 5 stars from Canada! (I like that he doesn't use canned soups in his recipes)

I have used much of Chef John's recipes, as for the deviled egg. I too have always made my eggs this way. wonderful.!

I was looking for the way to make my mom's deviled eggs which were famous in our house growing up. My problem was how to boil the eggs to get the yolk just right and this video was perfect. While I used the simple mayo, mustard, vinegar combined with yolks (paprika sprinkled on top) recipe for the filling, I could never have had the beautiful deviled eggs dish without using the steps by funny Chef John. My brother walked in the door on Christmas Day, immediately ate an egg and almost cried. "Just like Mom's," he said.

I was so delighted to come across this video today. I didn't know about Chef John until this morning! I loved the video, and I love the sound of these deviled eggs. What a great idea for Halloween parties!

Great recipe - didn't mind the jokes at all. John's videos alway make me smile.

I've tried this method and it's a good one. I make deviled eggs fairly often (they're a big thing here in the South) and this method means consistant results. While the recipe is not to my taste (Southern-style is mayo, a touch of mustard and some like pickle relish), the method is a keeper. (And P.S. regarding Chef John's jokes, it's called humor people. Don't take everything so seriously.)

what people might care about is that habenro sauce makes an excellent replacement for the Sriracha sauce.
