I love the recipe and the video just supplements what I already knew, but for someone new to cooking I think the video is very helpful.

I always enjoy these videos! I can easily find the ingredient amounts on the allrecipes page and I like being able to pause and start the video as I choose. Nice to get a few good ideas from Chef John and make it my own.

I do mine exactly the same, except instead of that last cup of water I substitute Bar-B- Que Sauce, sooo much better!

New to this site but if you read the information below the video it tells you to "Get Chef John's recipe for Sloppy Joes." When you click on the words "Sloppy Joe" it will take you to the recipe page with everything you couldn't find. Ps - great idea willthack; I add a bit of frozen (not thawed) corn and pimento to mine. Add some French Fried Onions to the top of the sandwich too. So experiment a little & come up with your own favorite.

Good God people. Experiment a little! Have some fun. You don't have to follow a recipe for everything. It's not at all useless to have it in this format. We aren't talking about a baking recipe, precise ratios aren't important. Do it to your own tastes!

Paula it's called "buffering". To avoid the stuttering, just pause the video at the beginning and there should be a little meter showing you how much of the video is loading. When its finished loading the whole video, it should play fine.

I don't enjoy these videos, I don't know if it's the video or my computer. They start, play,stop,start,play, stop, they don't play continously until the videos are finished. Can someone help?
