In this video, you’ll see how to make a simple pasta with Italian sausage and greens. As the onions and sausage cook, they create a flavorful fond, to which you'll add a little broth, and then cook the pasta directly in the broth. So easy and delicious! Add your greens at the end. Chef John is using arugula, but feel free to use your favorite green. This is the perfect meal for college kids. As Chef John explains, “It’s super-easy, costs pennies, and requires a bare minimum of kitchen equipment.” Watch the video, then get the recipe for Chef John’s Orecchiette. Top it off with some freshly grated Parmesan. See more Chef John videos >>

I made this for the first time yesterday. It was so easy and took very little time. It was really good. I loved the sauce made from the mix of favors and the thickness from the pasta. I am always looking for recipes that I can make quickly after work and this is one. I used Kale and spinach; that is what I had in the house. Will try other veggies and maybe turkey sausage. Excellent!
