This looks absolutely fabulous and I am sure it tastes equally as good! I'm so glad you did not add 'cloves' the taste is disgusting, besides, who wants to eat a good smokey, sweet piece of meat that tastes like toothache medicine?

I have been making my ham like this for years. The only difference is that I skewer large chunks of cut up fruit with toothpicks and poke them into the ham to almost cover the entire outside of the ham. This keeps the brown sugar from burning and adds a lot more flavor.
