i suggest this method. strip all but the last couple layers of the husk from the cob. leave the corn silk. wrap the whole thing in plastic wrap and nuke for about 5 minutes. use kitchen sheers to snip one end of the wrapped corn and slide corn out of plastic. Grab silk and pull. the steam generated by cooking it in the husk and plastic cause make it come off all in one piece with nothing left on the cob. Using pot holder, peel remaining husk from cob, place on plate and drizzle with melted butter, a sprinkle of salt. . .its better then boiling. tastes much fresher and stays crunchier then boiling. You can also use gallon size zipper bags with two ears of corn each. End result is the same. No pot on the stove to clean up and no corn strings in your teeth.
