Video: Mistakenly Zesty Pork Chops

Baked pork chops in a zippy, accidentally delicious sauce.

In this video, you’ll see how to make marinated baked pork chops with a zesty sauce. This delicious recipe was born initially from a mistake: the recipe called for chili sauce, but what went into the recipe was cocktail sauce instead. And a good thing, too. The result was out-of-this world flavor. The chops bake up moist and the sauce has wonderfully tangy zip. Watch the video, then get BOOKCHICKADEE’s 5-star recipe for Mistakenly Zesty Pork Chops. Ummm... pour hot marinade into a plastic bag? Do you not realize you're putting plastic all over good food? That is bewildering to me.

I would try this recipe, however, I would omit the brown sugar in the sauce...Sugar and honey already in marinate plus Ketchup also contain sugar....

I've never seen a recipe for cocktail sauce before. I always mix Ketchup with prepared Horseradish. It always works for me. You can make it as hot as you want.

In the US we either buy cocktail sauce in a bottle or make it as above. We use it on shrimp, cold or deep fried. I like to add a little hot sauce instead of Worcestershire sauce.

Try mixing 500ml tomato ketchup, juice of 1/2 lemon, 2 tablespoons of prepared horseradish and a dash or two of Worcester sauce . . . Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
