I made this today and it was delicious. The only things I did differently is I didn't flour the meat and I added a 14.5 ounce can of beef broth and thickened at the end with corn starch. I wanted more gravy for left overs. Will cook again.

This was simply delicious. After reading other comments I decided to braise the meat before putting it into the slow cooker. I bought a 3lb chuck roast and slow cooked it for7 hrs. It was perfect and fell apart when done. When mixing the dry ingredients together I used a little over a 1/2 cup red wine for the liquid. The gravy came out rich and hardy. Wonderful recipe. I will do it again soon.
