My mother made the best chili con carne. I never knew there was such a dispute regarding whether chili contained beans. However, since the nomenclature includes "con carne", it seems to me that the meat is extra not the beans

Not liking this recipe. I prefer green chili peppers to red pepper, no celery. Add onion and garlic. We like the kidney beans. Chuck the Worcestershire sauce and add s bit of Tabasco or use jalapenos.

For one thing You should buy some sirloin and have your butcher ground it. Make your own beans from dried, not from the can! Need to add Habanero peppers and Jalapeno Peppers. And use Fresh tomato and basil and parsely... Then it will taste like ultimate chili

I believe the chili debate here is a debate on chili and not real chili which in my area is really chili con carne, which includes beans.

Chili is comprised of ingredients that suit the person making it. If you like celery in it, that's o.k., if you like green chilies in it, that's o.k. The rules for chili are strict.
