In this video, you’ll see how to make an Asian inspired marinade, a simple dry rub, and a basting sauce for pork spare ribs. All three preparations are super easy. The marinade stars hoisin sauce, a little pineapple juice, and hot chili sauce—that’s it! You’ll marinate the ribs overnight and then apply a very simple rub made with 5-spice powder, brown sugar, and cayenne. Easy! While the ribs are baking, you’ll whip up the basting sauce, which is simply ketchup, rice vinegar, soy sauce, fish sauce, and hoisin sauce. Then let the basting begin! The ribs come out of the oven beautifully lacquered and tender. Watch the video, then get the recipe for Chef John’s Hoisin Barbeque Pork Ribs. Try them alongside a little Spicy Peach Coleslaw. Simply amazing!
