Blow off the bread and turn a classic sandwich into the perfect pasta dish.

Was there ever a sandwich more worthy of being turned into a pasta dish? The BLT pasta. It’s made with lots of crisp bacon, baby arugula (for the L), and sweet, ripe cherry tomatoes (the T). A little minced garlic and freshly grated lemon zest give the dish wonderful, bright flavors. Instead of mayo, you’ll mix in a little crème fraiche. And in place of the bread, it’s tiny tubes of pasta (ditalini). But of course you can use whatever pasta shape you prefer. Watch the video, then get the recipe for Chef John's BLT Pasta. Top it all off with freshly grated Parmesan. See more Chef John videos >>

Loved it! I added instead the creme and olive oil, I used a half cup of Bacon and tomato flavored ranch dressing, just enough to coat, and added a half cup of sliced sun dried tomatoes.Thinking of adding fresh chopped basil leaves.

Instead of making a hot dish, I like it cold. I do like the tomato cooked. Just skip adding the creme fraiche, and rinse the pasta under cold water. Add mayo at the end. You can get crazy, and add choped egg. Maybe a little onion too.
