In this video, you’ll see how to make grilled tri-tip steak rubbed with herbs and spices. Grilled tri-tip is a specialty of California's Central Coast region. And this recipe takes the basic Santa Maria recipe and gives it a flavor boost, adding dill, sage, and rosemary to the mix. You’ll grill the marinated meat using a high-heat/low-heat cooking method that results in a juicy, tender, and flavorful steak. The herb rub is also great for grilled pork and chicken. Watch the video, then get CHIEFWMS’s 5-star recipe for Grilled Tri-Tip with Oregon Herb Rub. Try it with a simple green salad on the side or pile it onto French bread and melt some mozzarella over the top. See more grilling videos >>

Normally comes as a roast. You may have to purchase it this way and cut into steaks. May also be called triangle roast.

Can anyone tell me what Tri-Tip steak is? I want to try the Grilled Tri-Tip with Oregon Herb rub. I have never asked a butcher for this type of steak nor have I seen it in our grocery stores in Ontario, Canada. Would appreciate it if someone could educate me!! Thanks very much
