In this video, you’ll learn how to make chicken parmesan. Unlike many restaurant preparations, Chef John’s method doesn’t overwhelm the chicken with sauce and cheese. You’ll see how to prepare the boneless chicken breasts and learn Chef John’s trick of seasoning the chicken directly (instead of the bread crumbs). You’ll get breading and saucing tips to ensure your chicken has a delicious, crisp coating. You’ll see an ingenious technique for “dredging” the chicken with flour and learn why it’s best to let the breaded chicken sit for a bit before frying. You’ll see how to fry the chicken just to golden brown before transferring it to a baking pan and adding sauce (but not too much!), cheese, and herbs. Watch the video, then get the recipe for Chef John's Chicken Parmesan. It's a delicious meal that seems fancy but is actually pretty easy to make. See more Chef John videos >>

I am looking for the video that goes with this recipe. I watched it last year and now the video has changed. I loved it and was hoping to watch it again to refresh my memory. I haven't tried the new recipe yet, but really loved the old one. Can you please put the old video back on?

Took out after 35 min @350 and chicken wasn't even close to done. Epic fail. Lid no lid I don't know. I didn't use a lid. Maybe I should have.

How easy this is! I hate making chicken parmesan because of the mess of pounding the chicken breasts, cleaning everything after handling raw chicken. This is healthier (no frying)! The ingredients are just staple things, FRESH is the key, the Basil, the Mozzerella & Fresh grated Parm cheese, add extra smashed garlic, panko bread crumbs under the final mozzerella and always a bit of olive oil on the bottom with the initial ingredients. This was so easy I didn't have to write down or print the recipe! Good eating!

I tried this recipie, it isn't bad, but I put dried Italian sasonings on the bottom of the casserole dish and oil, just for taste. Also, used shredded parm & mozzarella cheese from the store, and didn't skimp on the cheese. Used some canned mushrooms (drained) and it made a nice dish.

I just love the crispy crunch of Panko crumbs & along with the cheese, man this can't be beat. BTW - you can always serve more sauce on the side for the sauce lovers in your group.
