@Kimberly No, don't bake the crust before. Bake it all together, including the apples, crust and crust top. :3

HELP I'm not a pie maker and I'm confused. Do I bake the crust before I add the ingr to cook a pie or do I add the filling and then cook the pie?

I followed this recipe to a T and it looked beautiful and when I went to cut it there was so much juice that it made the bottom crust very soggy. How disappointing. How do you keep that from happening??? Would not recommend this recipe!!!

I tried the pot pie, minus the celery, and used tinned peas which I added later, was pleasantly surprised. Easy to follow and delicious. Will put a pastry layer inside next time around. Thank you lovely recipe.
