To improve the flavor of the tortillas, use hot chicken or beef stock in place of plain water. I use the stock from the boiling meat or use boiullion flavoring. Also use a touch of oil to stop the tortillas from sticking when you cook them. This came from my mother-in-law in Chiapas Mexico, who owns a restaurant there. One trick I have learned is the flatter the better!! You can put anything inside of a tortilla!! We sprinkle cinnamon and sugar in the dough balls and have a sweet treat!!
