The tomato sauce for pasta pomodoro was incredible and the vinegar is a must really makes the sauce! Do not use a whole box of pasta, only half!!I Use Fresh tomatoes and fresh basil is essential. I cooked Hot Italian sausages on the grill to add to sauce makes it a hearty meal. Delish!

NEVER add oil to the water...sauce will not stick to the pasta. Cardinal sin!

Add a little olive oil to boiling angel hair pasta, prevents clotting of very thin pasta while waiting for Pomodoro sauce to finish. I (for one) darken the garlic while frying which adds a slight bitterness to the sauce, Have also thrown a few anchovies into the cooking onions & garlic. The slight saltiness compliments the overall taste.

I added uncooked shrimp and turned until done, then a minute before serving added a cup of cherry tomatoes. I love the "pop" in your mouth when you bite into them so be careful not to overcook them. Also use Whole wheat pasta. I like the balsamic vinegar, makes for a nice taste.

first of all, by the time you cook the sauce the angel hair spaghetti is turning into glue, then you don't put chicken broth in pasta al pomodoro. pasta al pomodoro is made with tomato, garlic,basil and peperoncino if you like it hot. (olive oil, of course.) jenny,from florence,italy

Do NOT cook the pasta BEFORE the sauce! Pasta must be cooked, dressed an served in rapid sequence. Pasta waits for no one! Daniela (from Italy)

YOu can also use a can of romano tomatoes and puree them, if you don't have fresh tomatoes on hand. Don't cook the garlic so long. I like to add some mushrooms.
