Just like school lunch "grilled cheese". I guess it's salad without dressing for the rest of the day after ONE of these... or buy bigger pants. I think I'll just brush on a teaspoon of melted butter on each slice and say "I'm on a (sensible) diet."

I use a gridde and a do eight sandwiches at a time plus, you have to use TWO slices of cheese. Mine never come out flat and soggy. But, maybe I will use the oven once, just to see for myself.

I agree - it is a good idea but I would use more cheese than that!

If her grilled cheese sandwiches on the stove are 'soft and soggy', I'd suggest she heat the pan to 350 first. Frying stuff in a cold pan is a recipe for "soft and soggy". I agree that some comments are unnecessary...but so was this "awesome" dribble.

I can see making a bunch of grilled cheese I used to make them for a very large family. Ive been making grilled cheese sandwiches since I was a small child. If you have a lot of time toast your bread add the butter & cheese & put it in the microwave for 15 seconds per side. I learned to cook for over 300 people. at tye age of 13

As an option, use thin sliced, not shaved, honey ham or turkey. Also, try swiss instead of cheddar. I do like the oven idea, and the paper in the bottom of the grill pan.

Once you use a Cuisinart GR-4N 5-in-1 Griddler for grilled cheese at 4 at a time you will never switch and place them on a rack not a plate.
