In this video, you’ll see how to make a pork roast in your slow cooker. You’ll sear the pork shoulder on all sides, and then sauté shallots or onions in the same pan, deglazing with a little apple cider vinegar. Then everything goes into the slow cooker, along with apple juice or apple cider, whole garlic cloves, and a bay leaf. It’s so easy to prepare. Once the pork shoulder is done, you’ll simply reduce the braising liquid down to a savory sauce, adding a little Dijon mustard and butter. So delicious spooned over slices of incredibly tender roasted pork. Watch the video, then get Chef John’s recipe for Slow Cooker Apple Cider Braised Pork. This is a wonderful fall or winter dish, and it’s delicious with a glass of cold, crisp Riesling. See more Chef John videos >>

No,the thicker the better,IMHO. I'll be adding Corn Flour for a thicker sauce.Either way,it is sure to be delicious. Try it with Pork Neck,a very under rated cut of meat.

I made this today, and it's delicious!! My sauce is thick though...! I think I over-reduced.
