You can buy small heat diffusers that sit on the burner under the pan at kitchen stores. --be careful dropping the pan on the glass top.

What does one do that has a glass cook top and cast iron skillets cannot be used in it?

Why is it my chicken is nowhere near being done after just five minutes in the oven?

the cast iron skillet can cool off for 5 minutes while I sip a refreshing beverage. after that, I will spray it with the necessary lubricant and replace my breasts into their previous positions.

That's what I would do -- Just place it in the oven with the skillet.. I have a Moraccan Spice that has the same kick and I'm going to use that...

The cast iron skillet is too hot. The chicken will end up burnt on the side that is down. Burnt is not the same as Blackened. ;-)

Why use the baking sheet? Can't you just put the cast iron skillet directly into the oven?
