I like wetting bottom ring of first pie to join together to layers. And adding egg wash to top for golden brown goodness. I don't usually refrigerate after adding filling,I go straight to the oven. To each her own.

I love to bake pies and will definitely try this pie crust. All my family and friends can hardly wait for holiday season to roll around bcuz of my pies. I make anywhere from 16-23 pies at Thanksgiving and only a few at Christmas love to bake pies!!!

You didn't go the final step for a two crust pie. If you don't wet down the edge of the bottom crust just before you lay down the top crust, they won't stick together. Once they're stuck together, it's easier to make a decorative edge.

Can guys use these techniques too? I don't want to be the "Pie Queen", I might go for "Pie King" though.

I did exactly what the video did and my crust was thick and tough and not the least bit flaky?!! I made one apple pie in my life that had a flaky crust and wonderful was call the Perfect Apple Pie....and I've lost that recipe and can't find it anywhere?!!

Yes, I add milk instead of water, too. And I brush the top crust with a milk/egg wash and it browns to perfection.
