We’ve done the traditional banana split one better. Grilled bananas put a warm twist on a cold classic. It’s the perfect dessert for any barbeque. In this video, you’ll see how easy it is to make a grilled banana split. Just place olive oil-coated sliced bananas on the grill. It’s fast and easy, and grilling adds a delicious sweet depth of flavor to the bananas. Serve the beautifully caramelized bananas with your favorite ice cream, drizzled with chocolate sauce, and topped with whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry on top!

OK that is NOT enough chocolate to even legally be called a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Grilling the bananas, however, is a cool idea.

This makes a great desert for a barbecue party. Set out plates with the grilled bananas they are very fragile!), ten let guests add their own ice cream, toppings, and garnish. I like to set out at least 3 flavors of ice cream and in addition to the chocolate syrup I add defrosted glazed strawberries, marshmallow cream, caramel, and anything else I have on hand.

never thought of doing something like this on the barbecue! Think I'd add some caramel sauce, maybe a little crushed pineapple too...yummo! Will definitely be making this one!
