I have never seen a Macaroni salad using cucumber. I use it all the time. Remove the seeds. It makes the salad taste so fresh and clean. Use as much as you prefer. Chop it as you like. It stays quite well in the salad for a few days time.

She is right about cooling the macaroni. It will be cool enough staying in the frig while chopping up all the ingredients to add (except the mayonaise). Just add the ingredients and 1/2 of the mayonaise. Let the salad stay in the fridge until ready to serve. Cooking the night before realy blends the flavors. The macaroni will be firmer when the mayonaise is cut down. Right before serving add the rest of the mayonaise for it's moisture.

For those who want the recipe, just view it one more time and write down the ingredients. Takes another two minutes and you have it.

pheblou, I don't seem to have trouble finding the place to put the recipe in. Maybe it is beginner's luck.
