great recipe what about add a little tabasco for heat? Just enough to give heat without being too hot to eat.

5 Stars! I made this BBQ sauce (yes, it is chili powder)& is delicious! Classic BBQ Sauce 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 2 tbsp peeled and ginger 1 large onion, chopped 3 tbsp chili powder 3 cloves minced garlic 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple with juice 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes with puree 1/3 cup ketchup 1/4 cup cider vinegar 3 tbsp molasses 2 tbsp dry mustard 1 tbsp salt In a 5 – 6 quart sauce pot on medium heat, add oil, ginger and onion, cook ten minutes until light golden brown. Add chili and garlic, cook one minute. Add pineapple, cook one minute. Add tomatoes, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, dry mustard and salt. Using an immersion blender, puree until smooth. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 25 minutes until it reduces to about 5 cups. Sauce will last one week in fridge or 2 months in freezer.
