I usually cut my cookies on a piece of parchment so that I don't have to move them too much.

I always cream my sugar with the butter which is different in this video. I am a bit curious to see how combining all the wet ingredients without creaming the sugar and butter affects the texture of the cookie. My favorite sugar cookie recipe came on the back of some Wilton cookie cutters I bought many years ago.It doesn't stick and you do not have to refrigerate the dough.

It was interesting to see that the butter and sugar were not creamed before adding the rest of the wet ingredients. I've never done it that way before. Hmmmm. I agree that it would be very helpful to show the whole process of cutting and moving the dough to the baking sheet. I love sugar cookies! We love the Sugar Cookie Icing to go with them.

To go from "roll" to "bake" leaves out the one step that is the most difficult... getting the cookie onto the cookie sheet without messing up the shape of the cookie! (Even when chilled!) Because of this, I've always rolled mine into balls, then rolled them in sugar and pressed them gently with the bottom of a glass (dipped in sugar) to slightly flatten to bake. You can frost and decorate if you wish instead of rolling them in sugar, but I prefer them this way, except when making them for a holiday theme or for the grandchildren. But, having a choice, they prefer chocolate frosted brownies or chocolate chip cookies, and sugar cookies come in 3rd! Chocolate is king! :)

Bit of an oversee in the video...don't pre-heat the oven before you start as these cookies require chilling in the fridge.
