Allrecipes cook Sarah experiments with ever-changing menus, using what's fresh and in season. An urban farmer, Sarah grows her own vegetables and raises chickens in her backyard. In this video, she makes her Grandma's Blackberry Pie. Fresh blackberries from the Pacific Northwest make this homemade pie incredibly delicious. If it's too juicy for you, simply add a little flour to the fruit mix. "I know apples in a blackberry pie seem a little weird,” says Sarah, “but my grandma swears they soak up the juice, and now I can't enjoy a blackberry pie without them." Loved this recipe! As an American living in the UK, I can't wait to try out "local" blackberries, which are just now ripe and ready for pies and cobblers. You've inspired me, folks!
