I love sesame and tahini paste but sometimes can't locate it to make humus, so for that flavor just use toasted sesame oil for part of the oil in your recipe. Saludos y provecho!

How can you make Hummus wthout tahini(sesame paste)?? It's like making bread without flour!! Hummus is made from chick peas,tahini,lemon juice,salt- and a clove of garlic if desired,blend all together,serve in a dish with a little olive oil on top.

If you buy dried chickpeas, cook them very soft first. Some lebanese people use too much tahini for me, so taste as you go. Tahini is not required. I use food processor, blends better and easier to get out. Cut up pita in strips, add garlic or whatever u like, bake. Make tebouleh for a filling lunch: parsley,onions, lemon, mint, garlic, tomatoes, and bulgar wheat (soak it first)Mix and in fridge to marry flavors.

I don't use tahini coz can't get it here in the Philippines. I blend 2 small cans peas, 1 large can chickpeas, 3 teaspoons minced garlic, small pack of black beans and 2 squeeze of lemon juice. Salt & pepper are optional. I think this is very tasty with cracker, lettuce, tomato, onions, & cucumber topped with caeser dressing too.
