On the screen before this one don't click on the title. Look down a little farther and just to the right of the picture and click where it says 'Get The Recipe'. No video there.

Add one cup of Rice Krispies. They put in a touch of crispy, light crunch. You don't see or taste them as they melt away. For me waffles should be crisp and crunchy on the outside but light and airy on the inside.

I use plain almond milk in place of cows milk for my son who is allergic to dairy. Works great!

For REALLY good, light waffles that are crispy on the outside and airy inside, substitute club soda for the milk. Don't stir too hard - keep a little of the bubbles in the mix. But that's not critical. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you've not tried it before. You can also use root beer or sprite or coke or .... It doesn't really affect the flavor.

Mmmm...I'm gonna try the cottage cheese sub. I've used buttermilk and love it but never thought about using cottage cheese. Thanks for the tip n2hotspice :)

I altered this basic recipe by substituting 1 cup of cottage cheese for the milk and used buttermilk instead of whole milk. Also used splenda instead of sugar to reduce the carbs. Added a few drops of vanilla. Also used melted butter instead of oil. The result is a light and fluffy waffle my family likes.

Made these for dinner tonight...didn't realize I was out of Betty Crocker's mix... I added the vanilla & some cinnamon and they were a hit, adding them to my recipe box. Thanks.
