This would be great with leftover vegetarian chili as one of the layers! Yummy layers of tortilla chips, shredded cheese, and really chili, made with mounds of fresh mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. For leftovers, take the chili to layer with the cheese, crumbled tortilla chips and Vegan cheese. Serve with a big scoop sour cream, shallots, and lots of shredded lettuce cubed Roma tomatoes... and tortilla chips...delicious!! And--if you'd rather make a more nacho-type dinner, leave out enough to line the circumference of your serving dish! Wowser!?

Gak! Greasy! Warm sour cream? Use the bisquick recipe for impossible taco pie. Much better and edible too! Spice up the filling the way you like it. Add the sour cream at the table.

Im going to make it adding black beans and eliminating the sour cream until after it bakes the second time. I don;t like warm sour cream. After the cheese is melted then I will add the sour cream chopped tomatoes and salsa to the top. Yummmm

I also would change it up as I've made a Taco Pie in the past but I used Spanish rice in between the meat and dough and didn't cook the dough separately but after I added ingredients on top to avoid over browning it.

I have been making this for years. I use low fat cheese and sour cream to make it more healthy. Serve topped with shredded lettuce and chopped tomato. It is a crowd pleaser!

I will sure try this. It has things in it that I usually keep on hand. We like a lot of spice so green chiles and peppers will go in. One person said retried beans will be added. The sky is the limit! Thank you for this great and easy dinner.
