To make harvesting the cabbage leaves easier Boil a lg. pot of water, cut the stem end of the cabbge off. Submerge the cabbge on te boiling water. Peel the leavss off as they soften. uch easier.

You can use grape leaves or turnup greens instead of cabbage.......

I want to try these but i know i want to try it with the beef & pork sausage & go with a more spicy taste & the sauce i want to make on the side, i'm scared i might not like it but i think i'll try these this wknd!

Comming from a Polish family, I have to say these are great. So simple, few ingredients, and taste fantastic. My only problem is removing the leafs from the head, but it's worth it. We have these few times a month. For lent I'm going to try dried mushrooms instead of meat.

Freeze head of cabbage for 2 days prior, remove from freezer thaw, & leaves separate easily & are soft without having to boil them, great timesaver!!

I recommend frying the rolls first in a greased frying pan turning them often over to be sure to lightly brown all sides. Then continue with recipe. Frying the rolls first gives the cabbage rolls a great taste. It is worth taking the time to add this step.

For people who like the Stuffed Cabbage or even Stuffed Peppers - use ORZO instead of Rice. Makes the recipe taste good and you can substitute Italian Tomato Sauce for the Tomato Sauce. My wife does not like Rice so I learned the trick of subbing the orzo long time ago. Being Italian - I like to use what we call GRAVY.Put over a bed of Linguine for an Italian flair afair.
