Why all the fussing with soaking, wrapping unwrapping etc? Husk it,take off the silk, brush with olive oil then grill it on high, turning so you have a few caramelized kernels on each side. Butter, salt, done. Best tasting corn to be had!

We soak the corn, still in husk in a bucket of water, for about 30-45mins. turn them or til you see that the husks have taken water in. Then place them on the grill and cook, turning on all sides, pull back husks, and when they are golden yellow they are done,Best Tasting corn, you'll ever have.

I cut the top and bottom of corn...wrap I foil, grill on high 30 minutes turning every 10 minutes... The last 10 minutes move to top rack, place my ribeye on grill 5 minutes on each side done, dinner.... No need for butter salt or pepper, it is sweet enough.... Of course on a gas grill.....

I tried many ways of cooking corn, but the best way to cook corn is to take off husks, clean, wrap in foil individually and bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve and let guests season. Never fails and always good. Can sit up to 30 minutes in wrapped foil and will stay warm. Why so much fuss with the husks, wrapping, buttering, and taking up bbq space?

Cannot imagine cooking with the husks on...I have seen it done and a Huge Green Worm was roasted to perfection...UGH!!!!! Just peel off the husks, clean the Ear of Silk, Soak in water for 30 minutes, dry off, Butter with your hands, then Salt and wrap in Foil, grill for 20 minutes turning every once in a while. Very good!!!!

I agree with the soaking. I soak for 2-3 hours in the husk but I add sugar to the water. Grill for about an hour on med heat not on direct flame making quarter turns every 15 minutes. I on occasion after soaking I peel down husk add butter, salt, pepper then put husk back up in place and grill as normal. The water plumps the corn while the sugar sweetens a little more.

Thank you to Gail above. I just soak the corn for about 30 minutes in a bucket of water, silk up (so air can escape as the water fills in). When the grill is hot, trim off any loose husk leaves and all but about 1" of silk past the end. Grill for about 25 minutes, with a quarter turn every five minutes (last turns goes to whatever side looks the least done). When done, stack it up and cover it for about 5 minutes. Peel the husk back into a handle, and the silk just comes right off. Now's the time for your butter, salt and pepper.

Try soaking the ears in salted water. Leave husks on taking the silk out carefully. Soak over night or for at least 3 to 4 hours. Put on the grill with the husks on. When ready try pulling the husks back and eat holding on to the stalk. Just like we do at the Indiana state fair every year!

I can't believe its recommended to leave the corn on the grill for 30 minutes with the heat set on HIGH?? Did someone forget to note a heat reduction somewhere?
