I used garlic cloves instead of whole regular cloves. Best soup ever!

I made this recipe but came out with a really thick soup / sauce , before I made the roux. How can I get it to be less thick and more of the color in the video ?

What a great way to use tomatoes fresh from the garden. This soup is excellent it taste better than the soup at the local supermarket deli. I took some to work and several of my co-workers went crazy for it and asked for the receipe. I added 4 dried red peppers (chile Arbol) and removed all except one before blending. by doing so this gave the soup a little kick at the back of your throat. Excellent

Can I water-bath can this recipe? I read that I shouldn't can recipes that have been thickened with corn starch or flour, but I'm not sure about a roux that has been cooked in...

Just use ground cloves or an old trick is to stick the cloves in a whole onion. Then you can remove when finished and process the onion with the tomatoes,
