I made this recipe during the holidays, and thought it was fantastic. The cookies were hard on the outside, yet soft and warm on the inside-the perfect cookie. I used ginger to replace the cloves, but still found the cookies to be delicious. I will definitely refer back to this recipe and recommend that you do too.

They are Big and soft!The first time I followed the recipe and they were very good. Made them again and switched it up a bit as follows. They were even better!! I used orange juice in place of the water to bring out the ginger flavor, and changed the sugar to half brown and half white. Quick and easy recipe. Yummy!!

I was really bored and wanted something fast and easy to make to eat. i started making them and found out i didn't have ground cloves, and an egg. But i went on mixing and when i took them out and took a bite they were EXTRAORDINARY!

The video for the soft ginger cookies leaves out the addition of the fresh and crystalized ginger!! Very important. I watched the video several times and it simply is not there. I wanted to watch to see how you recommend peeling the fresh ginger (a real pain).

if i'm making gingerbread cookies with this recipe, do i still have to put sugar on the dough before baking?

They taste great! Simply amazing :) but for some reason mines turned out so thin, still soft and yummy but thin. Can anyone help?
