The name of this recipe is NOT an exaggeration. I always omit salt in every recipe, however. Never understood why people seem to think it is a seasoning or ever necessary. EVERYTHING ALREADY HAS TONS OF SODIUM IN IT! Also, I added Romano cheese to the mix and think that really gave it a boost in flavor.

This was outstanding! John is right: it takes a little more prep time but boy is it worth it. The fresh ingredients make a big difference.

It really did take a long time to prepare. I was so excited making it because this would be my first lasagna ever! after following the recipe, I had quite a bit of meat sauce left and the lasagna was too meaty. Not enough cheese. My husband loved it but I've actually had better. Maybe next time Ill try cottage cheese instead of ricotta

Agree with most of the reviews - this is a delicious recipe. We added spicy italian sausage and it added a zing to the dish! Also added in some left-over vegies - in future I will add more in, as I like a meal to be balanced with not too much meat. Also will omit the sugar - really isn't necessary but guess it all depends on one's taste buds. Yum Yum! Will make again!

Sooooooo good! My husband loved it...He told me that it was the best lasagna he ever tasted..bette than his mother's hahaha! Just one thing, use only 1/2 teaspoon of salt...other than that everything is perfect. I will cook it again and give some to my next door neighbor. Thank you Mr. Johnchandler for the amazing delicious recipe...two thumbs up for you!

However, I made this recipe the first time using salt as listed in the recipe. It was too salty. I now make it and omit all the salt. It's just fine this way. Secondly, you do not need to boil the lasagna noodles. You can put them in the lasagna pan uncooked. With the hot lasagna sauce and cooking the lasagna in the oven for 50 minutes, the lasagna noodles get cooked. No need for all the mess of boiling the lasagna noodles separately.

My husband loves loves loves this recipe! The sausage gives it the best flavor. One reviewer said the sauce was too acidic and yes, the sauce is on the acidic side but it is balanced beautifully by the cheeses in it. I added a little honey as I like my sauce a bit on the sweeter side. I will make this again many times over and I don't see how you couldn't like it!
