Original Recipe Yield 3 - 4 dozen
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup crisp rice cereal
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar together. Without sifting add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  2. Chill dough for 1/2 hour.
  3. Shape into balls and press firmly with a fork. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 10 to 15 minutes at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
