Love this recipe! I've made it for many different holidays, so easy to switch up the flavors and colors. Very simple to make, too! UPDATE (5/31/12): I make these for all the holidays now... so easy and so delicious! A couple of months ago I used lime gelatin and cut out shamrocks, I've also used orange gelatin (think orange creamsicle flavor, yum!) and cut them into pumpkins. I've also tried using different flavored puddings. I once mixed strawberry gelatin with cheesecake pudding - unbelievably good! I bet banana pudding would be a good substitution too - the possiblities are endless with this recipe... and kids and adults both love these treats!

I made this recipe at the last minute for my nephew's school valentine's party and it was definitely the hit of the party. There was no unusual taste as mentioned in another review, and I used the totally generic jello and pudding mixes. I was in a huge hurry, so I jelled it in the freezer, but they turned out great. I will definitely be using this recipe again. Thanks!!!!

The jello and the pudding separated so it looked good, but the pudding had a weird chemical taste (admittedly this could be the mix that I bought) and overall I would have to say the hearts were disgusting. I would just make "knox blocks" firm jello cut-outs next time.
