Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 5 cups rolled oats
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces finely grated chocolate bar
  • 3 cups chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Cream butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla. In a blender or food processor, process the oats until finely chopped.
  3. Add the chopped oats, flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder into the creamed butter and sugar mixture and mix well. Stir in the chocolate and nuts.
  4. Roll dough into 1 1/2 - 2 inch balls (do not press) and place 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
