Very good recipe. I made these for a gathering and they disappeared right off the plate. I did not use the sauce because 1. I was using this same sauce for another recipe and 2. I didn't have the extra time. Also, I only drizzled about half of them with the maple syrup, didn't notice much of a difference either way (both were good). One note is to make sure that your bacon piece is long enough to provide a little overlap so that when the bacon shrinks in the oven the weiner will still have full bacon coverage. Otherwise the bacon might come off. It's better for the bacon piece to be too long than too short. Don't get clever and try to stretch the piece of bacon either because it will just come off in the oven. The toothpick idea might alleviate this issue, but I was making a lot and didn't have time to put a toothpick through each one. This recipe is definitely a keeper and I will be making it again!
