Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs, or as needed
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon poultry seasoning

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the turkey, egg, onion, and bread crumbs. Adjust the amount of bread crumbs as needed to make a stiff mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the mixture to a 9x5 inch loaf pan, and sprinkle with poultry seasoning.
  3. Bake 1 1/2 hour in the preheated oven, or until meat is cooked through and the internal temperature is at least 170 degrees F (70 degrees C) when taken with a meat thermometer.

FOOTNOTE

  • For a variation, prepare one (6 ounce) package of stuffing mix as per package directions. Roll out the turkey mixture, and top with the prepared stuffing. Roll jelly roll style, and place in loaf pan. Bake as above.
