Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray large cookie sheet with cooking spray.
  2. If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; press into 12x8-inch rectangle, firmly pressing perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; press into 12x8-inch rectangle.
  3. Spread cranberry chutney on top of rectangle, within 1/4 inch of edges. Arrange sliced turkey evenly over cranberry chutney. Sprinkle shredded cheese over sliced turkey.
  4. Starting with longest side, roll up; pinch long side to seal. With serrated knife, cut into 24 slices. Place cut side down on cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets. Serve warm.

I'm giving this 4 stars, but only due to the taste and few ingredients (easy & cheap). I must have done something very wrong because my pinwheels looked more like "turkey cranberry blobs" than nice, neat rolls. First, the crescent dough was difficult to work with and I was unsuccessful in "pressing perforations to seal." When I went to roll the dough, it came undone in all the original perforations, depsite my efforts to press them closed. Also, I must have put too much filling (turkey, cranbery, cheese) on the flattened dough because when I went to roll the dough, the filling just oozed out of the long end, making it difficult to cut into neat slices. I would reccommend leaving at least 1 inch on one long edge without filling ...and use the filling sparingly. But like I said, the taste was great! Very sweet and buttery. Like little turkey sandwiches, but better. My family liked them, despite their appearance. :)

I made these last year, they were a huge hit, easy on the wallet and a way to use up leftover turkey! my kids and husband loved them!

This is a big mess. The crescent rolls don't hold together and the cranberry sauce is coming out all over. i tried to bake it as a loaf and then cut in pinwheels but that's not working either.

I found it very difficult to shape these into rolls that could be easily picked up. Perhaps I did something wrong? They tasted good, but did not come out 'pretty' to look at, thus were not a good selection for an appetizer buffet.
