The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 2)

The taste of the cookies was good. The ease of use wasn't very good however. I was looking for a recipe that I could use to make a lot of the cookies for a bake sale we were doing and while the recipe made a lot of cookies, I had to keep returning the dough to the refrigerator to get it hard enough to roll, cut and move. And by keep returning it, I mean every 5-10 minutes. I tried not to touch the dough very much and tried to work very quickly as well, but nothing I tried worked. If anyone has any suggestions, I would like to hear it. I would eat these cookies again in a heartbeat if they were more pliable.

This recipe does not have the typical sugar cookie flavor I was looking for and was very dry. If you like it this way I suggest you use a buttercream frosting instead of royal icing- sorry, I won't make this recipe again.

One more vote for the BEST sugar cookie recipe around. I'd stack these against any other recipe. They hold together, are moist for days and oh so yummy. I used to make sugar cookies just for holidays but not anymore. You will not be disappointed with them exactly as written.

Amazing. Stop right here and make these cookies! One recipe makes a ton. I usually freeze half of the dough.

Worked out great and made exactly the kind of cookies I was looking for! They were crisp but didn't fall apart. The dough was pretty easy to work with. I did add a little extra vanilla because I like vanilla, otherwise I stuck to the posted recipe.

Made these cookies last night with my daughter's. They turned out awesome. I figured I'd try out the recipe so I adjusted it for 15 servings. Between the kids and my boyfriend they were gone by morning! Needless to say I had to mix another batch today, 60 this time!!!!

Wow... These are great if you're after something really bland. I even amped up the vanilla (I love vanilla) and still found this recipe to have next to no taste. I found this mixture very difficult to work with when cutting. I had to keep taking small bits out and then putting it back in the fridge because as soon as it warmed up just a little bit, the dough became unusable. The outcome was good in the sense that they are good for decorating but, what good is a pretty biscuit if it tastes like cardboard?
