Honestly, after reading through many reviews of this recipe, I was really confused! some people swore by it and others said it was a horrible sticky mess. I kinda made this recipe to see who was right... First of all, I used cold butter, instead of softened butter- this helps the dough stay together and be firmer so as not to be too sticky. Secondly, I would not reccomend creaming the butter with the sugar by mixer- I mixed the entire dough by hand. Mixing things by hand creates less of a sticky texture. Lastly, it does need a bit more than a cup of flour so instead of adding additional flour for texture and additional sugar for taste, as most people reccomended, I added confectioners sugar, which has the texture of flour but the sweetness of sugar, plus a bit of flour. It rolled BEAUTIFULLY and tasted GREAT! I made a batch and the next day it was gone... So it seems that both sides are correct- this dough has potential to be great if worked with, but it can also end up pretty messy if you follow the directions to a "t."
