I figured out whats missing - it should be 2 eggs also!!
Recipe as directions produced crumbs Added an egg which made a dough finally. but I didn't care for the taste of these for some reason
Did not think of the eggs when I tried this so added 1/2 cup of milk. This was enough to make dough which I rolled into a log and sliced 1/4 inch thick. Result was a nice sugar cookie. Cook time was about 12 min's.
Eggs are the missing ingredient. I doubled the recipe and had to add six eggs. I used two tbsp of vanilla extract and got a nice flavor.
