Tater Tot Casserole Recipe Reviews - Allrecipes.com (Pg. 13)

I'm from MN-the land of hotdish casseroles. This is exactly how I remember the church lady's Tater Tot Casserole..this recipe is now a keeper at our house. Last time I added corn to get some veggies in there for the kiddo and used the smaller tater tot "bites" or something like that which made the tater tot part a lot crispier.

I gave it 4 stars as I like to jazz things up and this seemed a little too simple. I added shredded cheese to the mixture as well as some garlic and onion powder which are staples. I mixed in the hasbrowns and used left over ones to line the edge. I also added crushed triscuit crackers on top for some crunch. Yum! A great basic recipe that's easy to add things too!

Used some cheese and french fried onions on top... try adding a veggie (corn, peas, green beans) to it next time.

Not great. The only part I enjoyed were the potatoes. Too much beef and it had a weird texture. Also, it was pretty bland. It need much more seasoning.

Knowing my family I doubled the beef, soups, and sauces and used a 32 oz bag tater tots . I also added 1 12 oz bag steam fresh corn (drained) and 1 12 oz bag steam fresh peas (drained). I mixed all the ingrediants together for the casserole as opposed to just the edges for the tots. I used 1 vidalia onion. I baked for 25 minuites then added shredded cheddar cheese on top for 5 more minuites. It turned out awesome and the entire family gobbled it up!

I was skeptical that the kids would like it, since they don't like anything. But my oldest really liked it. I am very pleased with the way this turned out. I too omitted the ketchup and added shredded cheese to the top.
